So, you’ve signed up for a Ragnar Trail relay. Get ready to trade city streets for dirt paths, vans for tents, and car horns for campfire stories. Over two days and one night, you and your team will take turns running three scenic trail loops, conquering rugged terrain by day and starry skies by night.
Before you pack your trail shoes and head into the wild, here’s everything you need to know to make your Ragnar Trail experience legendary.
WHAT TO EXPECT ON RACE WEEKEND
The Ragnar Village Experience
At Ragnar Trail, your home base is the Ragnar Village, a campsite packed with everything you need for an epic weekend:
🔥 Campfires & s’mores (because you earned it)
🥘 Food trucks & beverage tents (to fuel up)
💆 Recovery zones (think massages and stretching areas)
🎶 Live music & nighttime festivities (it’s a party and a race)
🏕️ Glamping options (why wrestle with a tent when you don’t have to?)
🎒Ragnar merch & gear (because you’ll want a souvenir of your epic adventure)
🎁 Partner activations (think free samples, recovery zones, and fun giveaways)
In 2025 you can look forward to:
- Yellowstone Bourbon: On-site offering swag, prizes, and of course Bourbon tastings where permits allow.
- Nature’s Bakery Cafe: Stay warm and fuel up with delicious snacks from our friends.
- Vega: Get your fill of protein to help boost performance and recovery.
The Trail Loops
Each Ragnar Trail race has three different loops—Green (easy), Yellow (moderate), and Red (challenging)—that all runners will complete. Elevation is part of the fun, as are the breathtaking views along the way.
The Finish Line Celebration
When your final runner completes their last loop, your whole team will cross the finish together, covered in dirt, sweat, and triumph. Expect medals, high-fives, and maybe even a celebratory beverage.

- Extra socks (wet feet = no fun)
- Rain jacket (because weather happens)
